Happy Birthday, Pooh!

October 26, 2026

One hundred years ago today the world was introduced to the Hundred Acre Wood, Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin, and all their friends. They have been faithful friends ever since. The writing of A.A. Milne and the drawings of E.H. Shepard came together to form a world we all wanted to live in.

Here are a few quotes from Pooh-

  • “A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside.”
  • “The things that make me different are the things that make me, me.”
  • “Some people care too much. I think it’s called love.”
  • “Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon.”
  • “Poetry and Hums aren’t things which you get, they’re things which get you.”
  • “It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn’t use long, difficult words.” (I need to be reminded of that!)

And the ever present one that should replace most of our four-letter expletives- “Oh, bother!”

Here’s a song for the day.

Happy birthday, Pooh! You haven’t aged a bit.
